Source:"Budded plants presented by G Weidman Groff through OA Reinking, Los Banos, Philippines...From Dengo Shan, Kwantung Province, China." (from original PI record). "Kwantung" is now transliterated as "Guangdong". Accession was collected on June 14, 1921. Received by the CVC from CPB, 1930, as a cutting.

Parentage/origins: Parents unknown.

Rootstocks of accession: Carrizo citrange, C-35 citrange

Season of ripeness at Riverside: October to November

Notes and observations:

Good crop. Round. Thick rind. White flesh. Seedy. Sweet. Not much juice. (WP Bitters, J Brusca, 03/10/1954)

Medium sized fruit; flavor is already fairly sweet in November. Flesh is crisp & ricey, not very juicy. See WPB 1954 description on reverse of this card. (EM Nauer, 11/21/1988)

This accession is associated with the identifier CPB 15072 in archival material maintained at NCGRCD. CPB 15072 is associated with the inactive PI 109709. This number (PI 109709) was assigned after the plants were received in Riverside and so is not annotated in the old CES records. The original name associated with this genotype was 'Pin shan kong yan', however it was recorded in Riverside at the time of receipt as 'Pin shan kong yau', probably due to a typing error. The original name should be used. (RR Krueger, 12/19/2010)
