CRC 272 PI 539655
Photos by Toni Siebert, CVC, 4/11/2008. Photo rights. C-35 left, Carrizo right, 25 year old trees.
Source: Received from Dr. Fawcett's #105, Florida collection, 1914.
Parentage/origins: Was thought to be a seedling from a paperrind-type sweet orange.
Rootstocks of accession: Carrizo citrange, C-35 citrange
Season of ripeness at Riverside: March to July
Notes and observations: 6/1952, WPB: This does not appear to be paperrind--it appears to be a Valencia. 3/23/1987, EMN: This accession had seedling yellows, removed by thermotherapy. The rind is not thin-appears mis-labelled. 2/08/1988, EMN: Fruit compared with Valencia and it do appear to be one. 4/16/2008, TS: The rind is not thin, appears to be a regular Valencia-type. Availability: Not commercially available in California.
