Source: Received as budwood from W.W. Youthers, USDA, Orlando, FL, 1926. Open pollinated seedling.
Parentage/origins: Parents unknown. Seed was from original tree on laboratory grounds.
Rootstocks of accession: Carrizo citrange, C-35 citrange
Season of ripeness at Riverside: January to March
Notes and observations: 2/26/1988, EMN: A typical bittersweet orange. Description from The Citrus Industry Vol. 1 (1967): "
The bittersweet orange group, which contains at least two varieties, may be regarded as a subgroup of the common bitter orange, from which it differs mainly in lower acidity and better flavor. Availability: Not commercially available in California.
