Citrangor

X Citroncirus spp. RUTACEAE

CRC 1447

PI 539836

Photos by David Karp and Toni Siebert, CVC.10/30/2013.  Photo rights.

Source: Received as a cutting from W.T. Swingle, USDA, 06/1924.

Parentage/origins: (Poncirus trifoliata x Citrus sinensis) x Citrus sinensis (unknown cultivars)

Rootstocks of accession: Carrizo citrange, C-35 citrange

Season of ripeness at Riverside: October to November

Notes and observations: Citrangors are hybrids of citrange and Citrus sinensis.

EMN, 11/21/1988: Much like a citrange, leaves trifoliate. Fruit is definitely NOT edible and shows virtually no sign of Citrus sinensis parent if this is truly such a hybrid.

Availability: Not commercially available in California.
